1861 CDV William F Allen Teacher Abolitionist Wrote Slave Songs Taught Slaves in South Carolina Author This is a great early CDV of William Francis Allen, an early educator who traveled to South Carolina during the Civil War to teach former slaves. He also edited Slave Songs of the United States, published in 1867 which was the first work of its kind. The CDV is signed by Allen on the back and is dated 1861. It is in very good condition.
